Person Centred Therapy
My core training is as a person centred therapist. Over the years I have trained in many other types of therapy which means that I work in an integrative way. I have a ‘tool box’ of skills that we can use to tailor the therapy to suit you. We are all unique with individual needs, so we will work together to establish a relationship of openness and honesty and you will be accepted just as you are with compassion and respect. There will be no judgement or criticism just a safe, caring and trusting relationship where we can explore your difficulties and improve your day to day living.
One of my core beliefs is that everyone has the potential for change and together we can create a plan that will work for you. Sometimes this will be short term work but sometimes it may take longer as we engage in longer term therapy.
As a private therapist I offer psychotherapeutic sessions to children, adolescents, adults and families. I am Camhs trained and confident in managing complex mental health difficulties. I was employed in the NHS as a Camhs Therapist for fifteen years. I have extensive experience working with adolescents and adults who are experiencing mental health difficulties and any number of issues that young people face today.
These may include bullying, self‐image, identity issues, eating disorders, anxiety and depression, self‐injury or suicidal thoughts. I have experience working in high schools and colleges supporting young people with their difficulties.
